Visit Biarritz, a very smart, upmarket town with fine shops and restaurants, as well as a casino. For the children visit the aquarium and sea museum or take a ride on the little train into the Basque mountains. Further north is Bayonne with its old quarter where you can sip a cup of the renowned local hot chocolate. To the south lies the fashionable seaside resort of St Jean de Luz, then onto the Spanish border and towns beyond.
