Poipu Makai A1 Review Daniel M. from Quincy, MA recommends this property. Stayed for 8 days in August, 2009 Pool needs a good cleaning. Guest bedroom fan needs to be replaced due to vibration and noise at medium & high speed. Response was excellent to all our concerns. Unit was very well equipped. |

Shannon L. from Winter Garden, FL recommends this property.
Stayed for 4 days in July, 2009 Our stay at the Poipu Makai in unit A1 was amazing! I wish we were still there! The only thing that surprised me was that there was no air conditioning. I don't remember seeing that information during the booking process. As it turned out, once the unit was opened up and we got a cross breeze, there was no need for AC. Love those Hawaiian tradewinds! Thanks for a great vaction rental. |

A guest from Lolo, MT recommends this property.
Stayed for 10 days in February, 2009 We had a wonderfu; time and the condo was great. Only problem was the slider in the living room. Roger came right away to fix it but the next day it was not working right, very hard to lock and then unlocking was difficult. Hopefully the door can be fixed permanently. Great location, beautiful condo, we will be back. |

Wonderful location! Marilyn H. from Encino, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 12 days in February, 2009 A true oceanfront location, with a feeling of seclusion at the end of the building. Whale-watching from the lanai was great this year. We are regular visitors to Kauai since 1983 so we know our way around, and we think this unit is about the most pleasant we've stayed in. Hope to get back nest year. |

Poipu Makai #A1 View was breath taking from the patio area. However, the unit was original 1970's with update only at vanity. marilyn p. from san jose, CA does not recommend this property. Stayed for 6 days in August, 2008 We had several problems that needed attention and ReMax contacted the repair person and they were taken care of the next day. Pocket door to bathroom was off the track, light bulbs were burned out in bathroom and hall, fan needed to be attached more securely to the ceiling. We were surprised that these problems were not reported by last renters or the unit checked by someone from ReMax. This unit needs to be up dated as others have been. Lower parking area was close by to the unit but a challenge to park when another car was also there. Paint was being done so lots of noise from sanders, etc. Lights had been removed by the painters so they could spray but not replaced when they left so at night the area was dark when we returned from dinner. Glad I had a flashlight! We loved seeing the turtles, geckos, etc and the view was lovely! |

4 Days in Heaven Kim S. from Scotts Valley, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in July, 2008 It was a long journey, from Scotts Valley, CA, via San Francisco International. Flying through the morning hours with no food on flight, not an all together bad thing, but it left the boys famished when we arrived at HNL, only to have to push/pull our luggage from domestic arrivals to the GO Hawaii terminal, which was in utter chaos when we arrived. Two plus hours of waiting for our flight did little to dimiish the hunger pain growing deeper. Once in Lihue we found we had arrived too late for lunch at the Tip Top Motel/restaurant, so what to do...? We choose to drive to Koloa and had lunch at a great restaurant situated around an interior garden (sorry I can't remember the name but it worth hunting out) and filled with aloha spirit. That lunch was only outdone upon our arrival at Poipu Makai #A1! Our kids (18 & 14) were so jazzed, by the view and immediatly spotted a turtle swimming in the bay in front of our unit. What helped make the the stay so comfortable and exceptional was the extras: the cooler, the beach towels, the touring books, the patio furniture, sufficient house keeping supplies that we didn't have to go buy our own for a 4 1/2 day stay. Thank you so much, I only wish the same could be said of the vacation/house rental we had on Oahu. The Oahu property manager's response when we mentioned the absense of these things was, "we never supply those items." We will avoid that manager's propoertiers in the future but look forward to returning in two years and we will take our busineess to RE/MAX Kauai, for sure. One suggestion, trim the hedge to get a better view of Poipu Beach Park from the patio. It has been left to grow tall, perhaps to block the line of sight of the adjacent property, but a better view of the coast line would be a fair trade off in our opinion. Mahalo for the clean and comfortable accommodations and nicely decorated unit. We look forward to our return visit! From the entire Ohana. |

A Holiday in Paradise Mary T. from Epsom, Surrey recommends this property. Stayed for 10 days in July, 2008 We had a wonderful holiday and the location was the best. Just being able to wake up each morning to the sounds of the oceans and the views of the sea turtles and passing dolphins. What more can I say |

A guest from Auburn, WA recommends this property.
Stayed for 6 days in June, 2008 The condominium itself was beautifully decorated and had a great view. We really enjoyed listening to the waves crash on the rocks and liked watching the sea turtles feed. It did not, however, have a pool worth swimming in (more like a wading pool for toddlers). We found the beaches in the area to be incredibly crowded, so we found ourselves driving to the east side (Kapaa) to ride the waves and eat good food at a good price. Also, found several roaches, but no roach traps. |

Poipu Makai A-1 was A1 Kathryn T. from Lake Stevens, WA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in April, 2008 We had a family reunion in A-1, C-1, and D-1. The location and view are awesome. A-1 has the best lanai for a group of people and the best "room with a view". The unit is clean and well-stocked. The only cons were a lack of beach towels (only 3) and a lack of mixing bowls and pots. Otherwise the kitchen is well stocked with utensils, both eating and cooking, and dish and glass ware. Great place. We will be returning! |

Perfect place for a wonderful vacation! Ann H. from Tomahawk, WI recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in January, 2008 Perfect location on south shore - we easily traveled to a different part of Kauai every day. Saw whales, turtles & beautiful sunsets out our window. Unit is larger than the pictures show. Parking garage is difficult to maneuver but nice to have the car covered. Great having WiFi. Housekeeping pushed us out before check out time, otherwise never saw anyone from management. Would like to have had air conditioning but we'll definitely stay there again! |

nice location on Kauai Eva S. from Jena, recommends this property. Stayed for 12 days in December, 2007 We really liked the property at Poipu Makai. The appartment was in a good condition though some aspects of the cleanliness could be improved (like the top of the refrigerator and the window in the kitchen had not been wiped for a looong time). Also, unfortunately the windows looking out to the sea were not really clean. Unfortunately during our stay there was construction work being done. Of course this cannot always be avoided, but we wondered why this had to take place in high season at premium-price time. However, RE/MAX Kauai was very helpful in sorting this out in the end. Apart from that we liked the location. Everything was there that we needed and it was very spaceful. Also, the condo was very suitable for staying there with children (we have two, aged 4 and 2). Best regards, Eva |
