Resort: Small, historical village, in the western part of the island 800 m from the sea, on top of a hill, in a secluded position with beautiful view, 4 km from Victoria. In the resort: restaurant. More possibilities for shopping and entertainments 4 km. Access: road Triq Il Gharb - Victoria - Gharb. Access via a good road. Car ferry Cirkewwa (Malta) - Mgarr (Gozo) 13 km. For arrivals by plane: airport Malta International (MLA) 40 km. This typical old Gozitan village lies in the West of Gozo Island and was already inhabited centuries ago, with old houses - still visible in the heart of the village - showing fine examples of decorated stone balconies. Gharb was created a parish in 1679 and a new, baroque church was built between 1699 and 1729. Its elegant facade has been compared with Borromini's S. Agnese in Piazza Navona, Rome.
