Resort: Picturesque resort, 40 km north-west from Glasgow, 48 km west from Stirling. All shops, restaurants etc. in the resort. Access: motorway M8 Glasgow. Then road A82. Access by train Glasgow - Balloch. Railway station in the resort. For arrivals by plane: airport Glasgow Prestwick (PIK) 80 km. Located on the southwestern edge of Loch Lomond, Balloch is the gateway for the Loch Lomond National Park and the main place from which to take a cruise or hire your own boat to explore the loch. The area offers plenty of outdoor activities including canoeing, kayaking, pedalo boat and bike hire and in the town centre you can choose amongst a variety of pubs, restaurants and take aways.
