From your 1-bedroom condo you can take a quick stroll to the Punaluu Black Sand Beach, famous for its hawksbill sea turtles _(honu)_ population, play a round of golf at Sea Mountain's par-72 golf course, or swim in the pool on a bluff overlooking the ocean.
SEA MOUNTAIN IS LOCATED IN THE DISTRICT OF KA'U, a lightly populated area at the south end of the Big Island. The unspoiled coastline in this area has remained mostly untouched by large developments, making it truly a slice of old Hawaii. You are just a 30-minute drive to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park -- the island's number one visitor attraction with the Kilauea volcano that has been flowing continuously for over 20 years -- and the wonderful arts and dining of Volcano Village. LOCATED ON THE LEEWARD SIDE OF THE ISLAND, Sea Mountain almost always has sunny weather and gentle trade winds. Ninety minutes in one direction to Kailua-Kona offers white sand beaches, snorkeling and dive trips, or nightlife. An hour in the other direction takes you to Hilo Town and the windward side with beautiful waterfalls, protected snorkeling ponds, and lush tropical green scenery. Sea Mountain is the perfect oasis at day's end for hikers returning from exploring famous Green Sand Beach, ancient _heiau_ and petroglyphs along historic King's Trail, and countless nearby cultural and natural sites.
FOR THOSE WHO WANT TO RELAX AND TRULY UNWIND, Sea Mountain makes it easy to achieve that goal. The area is sleepy and the complex is quiet. The condo is furnished in a contemporary Asian style and equipped with everything you need for a relaxing stay including a TV and VCR and a bedroom with a very comfortable queen bed. A sofabed in the living room provides sleeping arrangements for a family. The large outdoor lanai (balcony) enlarges the living space and brings the outdoors inside.
THE CONDO IS STOCKED with a plentiful supply of beach towels, comfortable beach chairs and beach mats, a beach umbrella, and coolers. The wonderful Sea Mountain pool area has ocean views and a big jet spa for an evening's enjoyment, along with a spacious deck and barbeque areas. The complex also has four free tennis courts.
